Meet the Artist:
Dan Thériault
Following back and knee surgery, it was time to return to work. I made a trip to the nearest footwear store to purchase a plastic shoehorn to help me put my work shoes on without straining my back and knees.
After countless purchases of these cheap shoehorns that kept snapping in half and breaking, I decided to put my woodshop skills into action and made my first wooden shoehorn!
Soon after that, family and friends were also wishing for one. I then realized that there is a need out there for this accessory, especially for the handicapped and the elderly. A shoehorn is also a unique gift for that someone who has everything.
It was time to get my workshop organized and a new business was born in 2020.

Dan’s wife, Estelle, has been an active part of the new business from its beginning in January 2020. She creates the accessories and decor for many of the local fairs and shows they attend. They are delighted by the many faces they get to meet and enjoy the rewarding atmosphere of attending local events to sell Bâton.
Be sure to watch our blog for updates on which shows they will be attending in 2021!
